Introducing Inflatable Mattress Double

Early forays into Van-life were simple.

Spotting a favourable forecast, then lobbing a mattress into the back of a van summarised the prep. Minimal supplies, maximum fun.

The results of these trips usually involved a very large, sandy waterlogged sponge that required two folks to lift out, then usually throw away.

Getting the bed out the way was an innovation that has stuck via our innovative drop down bunks, but the Mattress still needed work.

IMD joins the range of S+S essentials as we continue ticking items off our list of everything we deem important in a vehicle. We spend almost as much time sleeping as we do driving when on the road and this was an important part of the quiver for our vans.

Beginning with high-density comfort foam, we wrapped a tough waterproof outer around it along with inflatable valves giving the choice of soft, medium or hard for the ultimate dialled-in comfort. The mattress then followed the form and dimensions to work harmoniously with our drop down bunks, but was also engineered for use in more traditional camping environments should you need it, having the same footprint as a standard double mattress. Its auto-inflate characteristics keep its packed-dimensions small, though pumps can still be used.

Naturally, it's one colour, one size, and all you need, and nothing you don't.

Just an honest heads up that if this product is in stock, and you want it, now might not be the worst time to pull the trigger. It may well sell out sooner than you think and it could be a while before you see it here again- We'd hate for you to miss out.

We want you to love your S+S products, so if you’re not happy with your purchase we are happy to offer refunds on all full-priced purchases and store credits on sale styles, subject to some limited exclusions.

To submit a return please email info@stitchesandsteel.com with your name, order number, the item/s you wish to return and reason for return.

All return details will be provided via email within 2 business days. Please note that any shipping costs incurred for returning items to S+S for a refund or store credit is solely at the customers own expense.
