The Barn door awning also referred to as our Van Awning One, is an innovative and simple little accessory at home in any van with two doors at the back unlocking protection from the elements in less than sixty seconds.

The material is a lightweight ripstop with a small amount of stretch built-in, this allows it to be pulled tight without the associated sagging. We've taped and seam sealed it which equals a highly water resistant, adaptable canvas. 

The shape is slightly more dynamic than a rectangle which allows it to form around the vehicles rear doors with a better fit. Each corner of the awning has an eyelet with a guy line built in which allows it to be lashed on any vehicle.

Smart; Guy lines on all four corners allow it to be lashed in an infinite variety of setups meaning it works on any vehicle.

Packaging; Everything in its place. Each corner features hook and loop pockets designed to stash guy lines to avoid knots. We've added sailing inspired cleats to avoid unnecessary tying. The rip stop carry bag is just the right size when folded and rolled around the poles. Not too big, not too small. Same story for the pegs and their own, individual carry bag. 

Adaptable; The poles are designed to pack deliberately small. A stealthy, Anodised, Aircraft-grade Aluminium, 4 tiered collapsible unit meaning sub 1m packing dimensions while retaining the ability to extend as high as 3m.

FIT

Van Awning One was designed to work in harmony with the both the SWB and LWB VW Transporter platform first and foremost however, it works with both SWB and LWB vans along with vans with Spoilers too. 

We spent a lot of time making it as universal as possible. It'll be entirely compatible with all other variants of van. Vivaro, Movano, Transit, etc. We have also fitted eyelets on each corner of the canvas which allow the shorter side of Van Awning One to work well with the VW Caddy, Maxi and Transit Connect. 

INSTALL

The first of rear two eyelets should be tied to one of the rear door hinges, it’ll become apparent which one is best suited quite quickly, when tying the second you’ll be wanting to pull this one as it provides the tension to hold the awning to the van along the rear door seal. Pull the front of the awning over the rear doors and peg the front to guy lines at 45 degrees away from the doors and peg them into place. Use one of the two poles provided to hold the rear doors open which will apply the last bit of tension to rigging. There are two elasticated hooks which can be lashed pulling the awning fringe back and providing more shelter from the elements.

Can this awning be used for anything else?

Yes- it does have a party trick. When combined with an Awning Rail, this awning can be used on the side of your van too.

We use Royal Mail 48 & DHL Parcel for all our standard UK orders.

When your order’s been dispatched, we'll send you a confirmation email with your tracking number.

Your parcel will be with you in 3-5 working days (although it can take a little longer at busy times).

We want you to love your S+S products, so if you’re not happy with your purchase we are happy to offer refunds on all full-priced purchases and store credits on sale styles, subject to some limited exclusions.
