We needed A Kombi van for some seat cover development and factory Kombi dimensions and a friend of the brand raised the alarm that he wanted his pair of matching vans to go to the right home. Yes. We have a pair of these. If you walked into the dealership a few years ago and asked for the very best spec VW offer, then ticked every single extra, then sent it Leighton Vans and spent another £10k +, this is what you'd have. They are arguably the most desirable, highly sought after Volkswagen vans ever made.
The Van
The last of the German built Transporter story: the T6.1 factory kombi with the DSG gearbox, 4Motion drivetrain, and 204BHP Biturbo engine.
Full insulation, carpeting, Alcantara, twin captain seats, and an Isofix kombi 2+1 in leather along with Webasto heaters and leisure batteries, interior curtains, heated seats, electrically opening sliding doors and tailgates make these vans dream day vans and ideal for converting with a pod system in the back. They've got full VW service history, the handbook, 2 keys, and a slew of other extras we've no-doubt forgotten. They truly do have the best of the best with every extra box ticked.
These are 2021 vans. One has 36k miles, the other has 40k miles. One has black wheels, the other has dark anthracite. A few minor dints, scuffs, small amounts of wheel corrosion, which is fair to say is commensurate with age but overall, they are disgustingly presentable, practical and very cool.
