Universal Raised Awning Rail
If you've got a VW T5, T5.1, T6 or T6.1 the S+S raised rail profile is the best way to attach an awning to your vehicle.
Your 5th or 6th gen van came from the factory with threaded holes in its roof gutter allowing for accessory fitting. This awning rail is a direct fit into the gutter and is the correct length and width to sit perfectly in the 'gutter' where these threaded holes are located.
The rail is designed to be the best, stealthiest way to install an awning rail. The rail's jaws protrude upward, allowing plenty of room for roof bars, or pop top hinges; this is why the rail is designed this way. Even if you're not installing bars, or hinges, this is still our best option for adding an awning rail to your van with zero invasive survey.
The best way to install it is to place it on the roof, mark the bolt hole locations with a pen, drill the holes using an M6 drill bit and bolt it into place.
The C-section jaws are 6mm and with a diameter of 10mm at the widest point it accepts all Kador or bolt rope sizes from 6.5mm to 9.5mm.
Made from raw, extruded aluminium it can be easily painted, powder coated, or anodised to match your van.
