We're off! This year has been mad. S+S has been in the works behind the scenes for years but early 2016 marked the launch. The website went live and the products were finally available.
Gauging interest was hard and as big boxes started arriving we questioned how the brand would be received. It's now Early October and we are sat here looking at empty shelves.
Some would say a double edged sword... Naturally we want to have more products to sell but it also gives us time to press reset and focus on revising the products for 2017, developing and testing the...
We check the forecast daily, not because we want sun and don't want rain, but because we want storms which make waves. The forecasts we are watching with intent are the ones that spit out wave bouy heights, wind directions and atmospheric pressures.
When an unusual and unseasonal blob appeared way up in the Arctic we started hatching a plan. Surfing on the East coast has always been a fickle affair, things change quickly and the tides in the north sea are ferocious. Having the ability to adapt is one of many skill sets one must posses to be a surfer here....
Our office and warehouse is located on a old timber yard. The way things are done here, and the pace it moves at are eye opening. The best bit is borrowing their old trolley to haul stock from the warehouse to the vans. We've had a busy few days here as S+S packing and shipping orders since the Carbon Fibre telescopic poles finally arrived.

After having neither the skills or the ability to draw up a set of fitting instructions we decided a badly made "how to" film was the next best thing. We grabbed one of the awnings, threw it in the van and headed to Abberton reservoir (Europes 3rd biggest man made reservoir apparently) and set to work. Hopefully it sheds a little light on how the product works.
